How are espresso blends created?
Typically, they consist of at least two different coffees originating from different countries and/or regions.
The idea is to combine beans whose specific characteristics and flavor profiles unite to create a balanced whole.
What are the varieties of espresso blends?
It is common to combine Arabica and Robusta varieties. One example is our Espresso Classico with a blend ratio of 80 percent Arabica to 20 percent Robusta.
However, it is also conceivable to blend exclusively Robusta or Arabica beans - as for our Espresso Cento.
The advantages of espresso blends
Blends exist for one simple reason: they ensure consistently high quality and a uniform taste.
After all, coffee is a natural product and its quality varies from harvest to harvest.
To compensate for variations in taste, our roast masters Ralf, Steffen and Stefan regularly test the raw beans.
Of course, this requires experience.
Espresso Blends - the house brand
Like other roasters, we have our own espresso blends, quasi house recipes, which are well guarded by us.
Therefore, you will not find the detailed information on our blend labels as it is listed on our single origin labels.
Here's a tip for checking the quality of a well-prepared espresso: Sprinkle some sugar on the crema.
If the sugar stays for a short time, it is perfect. By the way, connoisseurs do not stir the sugar, but spoon it from the bottom of the cup after drinking. In addition to espresso blends, we also offer excellent coffee blends!
