Pacha Mama Coffee - The "Divine" from Peru

Product information

The "PachaMama" is a very balanced coffee with lots of sweetness and slightly fruity notes. Mixed with hints of nut and chocolate complements here a wonderful complexity in the mouth with a long-lasting aftertaste. We source the coffee without intermediaries. The proceeds thus directly benefit the farmers.

Michael Scherff and Walter Knauer have made it their mission to sell a top-quality coffee from organic cultivation via direct import to coffee roasters in Germany in order to improve the financial situation of Miguel Grau's small farmers while protecting the environment. Michael takes care of the quality and delivery reliability in the country of origin. Walter takes care of sales, customer service and logistics in Germany.
For decades, the coffee farmers of the highlands of Chanchamayo were organized in the cooperative "La Florida". The cooperative has about 1000 members and produces about 7000 tons of coffee of different quality from less high growing areas. The altitude of the coffee, the varieties, processing and quality differ. In order to change these differences, the "Asociación de Agricultores Grano de Oro Miguel Grau" was founded on the initiative of five families in Miguel Grau, to which part of Mari Scherff's family also belongs. The area of the "Asociación Miguel Grau" is located in a privileged altitude of 1320 to 1620 meters, which is the basis for the production of top quality coffee. The excellent harvest result would not be honored in the cooperative "La Florida" and would be mixed with the other harvest results from lower altitudes. Today, the "Asociación de Agricultores Grano de Oro Miguel Grau" has about 50 members, almost all of whom come from the village of Miguel Grau.
