The coffee cherry tea or Cascara - the name comes from the Spanish and means sleeve or shell - consists of the dried pulp of the coffee cherry. The tea has an invigorating, refreshing and invigorating effect, as is also known from coffee. It is especially suitable for people who do not like coffee, because it has no roasted taste. Our coffee cherry tea comes directly from a small asociación in Peru. It has a fine sweetness. Its taste is reminiscent of pear, rosehip and cherry. Not only hot, but also as a refreshing cold drink, it unfolds its special flavor. Who would like to enjoy it not only pure, can mix it for example also with tonic as a summer cocktail. There are no limits to the imagination here.

Popping red like a cherry
The coffee cherry is the fruit of the coffee plant. When ripe, it is bright red similar to a classic cherry, hence the name. The "cherry pits" are the coffee beans enclosed in the pulp and skin. The outer skin of the coffee cherry is very bitter and therefore not edible. The pulp, on the other hand, tastes very sweet.

The Healthy Alternative to Energy Drinks
The pulp of the coffee cherry is a real wake-up call, as it contains even more caffeine than the coffee bean. In liquid form, the Cascara can keep up very well with the conventional energy drinks. Big plus: Due to the natural sweetness, it needs no artificial additives.

The preparation is quite simple: 1-2 tablespoons per cup, about 200 ml boiling water per cup, depending on the desired intensity 5-10 min to pull (recommendation 8 min), filter and ready. Also suitable for the French Press.
