I am Pino and very proud to be a chimpanzee. Because we are very clever apes. We use tools, for example sticks, to fish in holes for insects. I can also see myself in the mirror. Of all the animals in the world, we are most closely related to humans. Our face, hands, and even fingernails resemble those of you humans. Chimpanzees are members of the great apes and live in the rainforests of Africa and in tree savannahs. We can live up to 50 years. Standing, we grow between 1.0 and 1.7 meters high. Our favourite foods are fruits, nuts, leaves and insects, but we also sometimes eat small mammals.
Of Pino and his friend Timba, there is the Children's book "TIMBA & PINO - Friends for Life", which tells of how both characters share a sad fate, but experience many beautiful and exciting moments on their journey together. The colourful illustrations of all the characters will delight children, whether they can already read or are being read to.
